Gamzigradska Banja

Gamzigradska Banja is located 11 km on the west of Zajecar (map), next to the main road Zajecar – Belgrade. Gamzigradska Banja epitomizes an exceptionally pleasant and serene surrounding for healing, resting, recreation, sports, hunting and fishing. The backbones of tourism in Gamzigradska Banja are the Social Enterprise ``Romuliana`` and Special Rehabilitation Center. The Social Enterprise ``Romuliana`` has at its disposal a hotel ``Kastrum``, four villas on the right river bank (``Sedi Gamza``, ``Timok``, ``Kraljevica`` and ``Zelengora``), restaurant ``Lipov Lad`` and villa ``Kopaonik``, adjacent to the hotel. This company, in the very center of the Banja, possesses a bakery and a pastry. The Special Rehabilitation Center is also situated in the center of Banja.
The Lake Sovinac
The Lake Sovinac is in the vicinity of the village Salas, near the main road Zajecar – Negotin. On the shore of the lake, there is a motel with a restaurant whose terrace outstretches up to the very shore of the lake. Beside the motel, there is an arranged auto-camp, sport and children`s entertainment facilities. The lake brims with fish (carp, amur, babushka, perch, catfish, pike...) and it is therefore packed with fishermen at all times.
The Lake Grliste
The Lake Grliste is situated amid the villages Leskovac and Grliste. It occupies the surface of approximately 100 ha, and its depth amounts to 28 m. The purpose of its formation was to supply water to Zajecar and surrounding settlements. The lake was stocked with the adequate fish species; kaugler, bream, carp, babushka, goldfish, chub, perch and catfish prevail. In the mere vicinity of the lake, near the village Grliste, there is a Monastery of Sent Peter and Paul, discreetly positioned in the shades of the old coniferous forests, planted by the monk Jermonenko in the twenties of the XX century.
The Lake Rgotina
The Lake Rgotina lays near the village Rgotina, 11 km away from the city noise. The lake has no streams but it successfully manages to obtain water from the countless underground springs. The bottom of the lake is sandy. The lake depth goes up to 40 m. The lake is a well known bathing and most visited area of Zajecar dwellers.
Timok
The distinct symbols of Zajecar are two rivers – two Timoks (Crni and Beli). The entire region of the Eastern Serbia, as a separate geographical entity got its name, Timok Region, based on these two rivers. Actually, this area is transected by five rivers bearing the name Timok: Svrljiski, Trgoviski, Crni and Beli; they all jointly create one river – Veliki Timok (Svrljiski and Trgoviski generate Beli Timok, Beli and Crni Timok generate Veliki Timok 2 – 3 km downstream from the city), The flows of all these big rivers (Crni and Beli Timok), together with the numerous smaller rivers and streams which are a part of their flow, intersect Zajecar territory, offering countless spectacular possibilities for picnic organizations and sport fishing.

The valley of Tupiznica
Tupiznica is an clearly detached mountain range in the utter eastern part of Serbia, inconspicuously seated among the city settlements of Zajecar, Knjazevac and Boljevac. It stretches on the south – western part of Zajecar territory. The area offers a vast number of natural touristic advantages, out of which we highlight the following: Lenovac Cave (Lenovac Well) and famous springs near the village Grliste. These natural springs attract a large number of people from the surrounding areas, especially in the course of religious holidays, due to the belief that our very springs possess a healing power.
