An office for the support of the cooperation between the Serbian and Italian entrepreneurs, as well as preparation of project proposals which convey any form of cooperation between Serbia and Italy was established within the City Administration

Within the project Open Up which is realized in mutual cooperation with the Italian Region Fruilia Venezia Giulia, the City of Monfalcone, three seminars have been held. All three seminars offered to the participants, as well as to the vast number of people attending the seminars, a wide range of lecturers from Zajecar, Serbia but, also the guest lecturers from Italy. Three seminars which represent the continuance of the cooperation between these two regions resulted in launching the office premises.
The first in the sequence of the successful seminars was held in the hall of the City Administration Zajecar. The topic of this seminar was support and development of the economy system in Zajecar and improvement of economy relations between Eastern Serbia and Region Fruilia Venezia Giulia in Italy. The organizers and participants of the seminar within the project in question recognized the possibility of improvement, support providing and intensifying the activities in the field of economic and trade relations. The seminar was opened by Suzana Vujic, Head of Local Economic Development Department of Zajecar City, who presented to the attendants the initial idea behind the entire project. Main topic of the second seminar was the new chance and new development models of the Eastern Serbia The participants were greeted by the Mayor of Zajecar, Mr. Bosko Nicic. The lecturer from the Italian delegation presented the illustration of Italian institutional structures. He offered to the attendants an insight to experiences and development path of Monfalcone.

Women in Project Management

The City of Zajecar is one of thirty Local Administrations in Serbia which participated in the seminar "Women in Project Management" . The seminar was held in the period of March, 14-16, 2011 in the hotel "Оzon", Brzece, Kopaonik. The training covered the following topics: available EU funds, preparation of projects and management of a project cycle (the analysis of interested parties, problem and goal, SWOT and PEST analysis, logic framework), the role of a project manager, establishing a project team, the role of a partner and project contributor. The training was organized by NALED in cooperation with Canadian International Development Agency - CIDA , the lectures were held by Jelena Bojovic, Executive Director of NALED and Andrea Vugrinovic, Consulting Agency "Superna".

29 young people started a professional practice at the City Administration

Within the project ``The First Chance`` and ``Professional Practice``, financed by the National Employment Agency, 29 young people under 30 with a college or university diploma, out of 48 which will be included in this program on the territory of the City, started a professional practice at the City Administration Zajecar. The program will enable young people to apply the knowledge they accumulated through education programs, complete the internship and take the final exam. They will increase their chances for employment and, some of them may remain within the sectors they are performing their professional practice.

Agreement with ``Gorenje`` finally signed on January 27, 2011.
The Vice president of the Serbian Government, Mladjan Dinkic, the President of the Management Board of ``Gorenje``, Franjo Bobinac and the Mayor of the City of Zajecar, Bosko Nicic have signed the agreement concerning the opening of a new factory in Zajecar. According to the contract, ``Gorenje`` is purchasing the halls of the former factory ``Porcelan``where the manufacture of washing and drying machines will commence. 80% out of the overall production output is planned to be exported to Russian market. By the end of this very year, ``Gorenje`` is going to employ 100 workers and within the period of the next three years, the total number of the employees will reach 300.

Second seminar within Open Up project

The second seminar within the project Open Up was held in the course of the previous weekend thanks to joint cooperation of the Municipality of Monfaclone and the City of Zajecar. The lectures on decentralization of institutions were held on the first day of the seminar. The lectures were rendered by Prof. Lawyer Marco Marpilero, who spoke of institutional structures in Italy, Lucio Gregoreti, who conveyed the experiences from Italy referring participation of municipality structures in a decentralized system and Prof. Dr. Jordan Aleksic, who delivered a speech on regional policy of the European Union.
